Shelter is back ... but I can hear that The Offspring has passed
before and that Shelter have decide to follow the path of fashion.
They haven't changed that much since When 20 Summers Pass.
It is still fast, melodic, punk, rock and you can almost feel the California's
sun burning your skin ... but where When 20 Summers Pass
was underground, this one is very commercial, more punk than rock and
sound like a clone compare to The Offspring's last record.
Ok you gonna tell me Shelter is the old band here and the success didn't
knock at their door ...
That been said, I am wondering how this scene will survive next year,
because from the first track 'till the last one, this punk-rock music
is constructed around one single riff. At the end, this is very boring
(nothing against Shelter, just a general feeling).
The Purpose, The Passion is a typical California punk
album ... no surprise at all, but no disappointment on the other hand.
