Previous Dreams of Sanity's record has been compared to Theater of Tragedy,
but I didn't really like it (I've got the feeling to listen to the same
song again and again). This time Dreams of Sanity have really improved
a lot and The Game is full of surprise. The voice of Sandra Schleret
is better than ever and the complex song-writting is excellent (Michael
Knoflach).
Compare to their previous work, Dreams of Sanity have remained faithful
to their elements of style, but The Game is much heavier and
less atmospheric. Don't misunderstand my words : we are still talking
of atmospheric metal here, but Dreams of Sanity have added something
new in their sound that makes them sound much heavier. Congratulation!.
The piano is the big winner and this time each song is totally separated
from the previous one. I am sure your soul gonna fly (piano and violins
are simply amazing) and if you heart doesn't react to Sandra's voice,
I guess you're not human anymore.
The Game is a concept and there is much sorrow in the story
that has been told that does not go away when the remote control button
is pressed (musically and emotionally speaking of course). Very nice
surprise.
