Killing songs: Skin, Ice Queen, Uneasy
Rainbow, Led Zep and the Beattles! This are the bands that comes
to my mind. And this Westworld's Skin is as good as the above-mentioned
bands best releases. Of course there are full of "cliché"
in this All-Star-Project pop-rock record, but the new work of Tony
Harnell (TNT), Mark Reale (Riot), Bruno Ravel (Danger Danger) and
John Reilly (Rainbow, Blackmore's Night) is full of passion and
... talent.
There is not a "period" of rock who is not visited, from
the 60's, 70's or the 80's and with an excellent sound "à
la" 90's (very good production!), this is the type of album
that proves again that rock cannot die, that rock reborn each time
from ashes and we need bands like Westworld to keep the flame of
rock burning. Songs like Skin, with this "warm"
voice and this double bass groove is a kind of Bon Jovi meets Rainbow
(simply excellent). I cannot really end this review without this
: Skin is also a "progressive" rock album , a lot of sound
(which are usually avoid by rock bands) are perfectly used and add
this prog atmosphere (Led Zep).
You won't break your neck with this one (we are talking here of
a pop / rock album). It's a good album, but it's one that you will
hear sitting and discussing it with your friends. Try before ...
especially if you are a die hard metal fan.
