Sinner's rebellion

The Dead Beginners were formed in 1992. In 1997, and after a promising demo, they released their debut album which came out through German Solistitium Records, and was spread very poorly. After this first shot, The Dead Beginners (risky name don't you think ?) have released two other albums. Due to problems neither one of these albums were released and therefore the band changed to Finnish Spikefarm Records. It has been decided to combine these two albums as one full-lenght and one mini-CD. Here we are reviewing the full-lenght album. These guys are playing an "Avant-Garde" dark/black metal (only vocals reminds me black metal). Personally, I am missing some melodies and some killing riffs to really appreciate this atmospheric "future world" metal. Overall's ok (the piano is perfectly used here), but on the other hand, there are some indifferent moments where the band seems to repeat themselves. I guess the timing is against them. Those last three years have seen many bands playing this type of dark metal and The Black League's Ichor is for me the best dark metal album of the year. Atmospheric and dark to the bones, this Sinner's Rebellion deserves a try. This is the kind of record you love or you hate.
