Killing songs: They are all good songs.
First time I listen a CD from this band and I very quickly like the peace and
quiet feeling that emerges from their music. People looking for double bass/guitar
attacks should look somewere else as Emerald Rain plays a very calm Hard
Rock with good vocals and nice catchy melodies.
I'd say that the band haven't invented anything here, and the songs sound like
things we might have heard somewhere else, but at least they sound very good
and that's enough for me. I also enjoy having an album I can put in the back
to put my mind at ease and relax, not taking care of which track I should skip
as they're all good. This is typically the kind of CD I enjoy playing in the
back while I'm working on something, it is emotioned packed and quite catchy, with
nice vocals and good guitar parts (although simple), but always enjoyable (both
riffs and solos). The only thing missing would be a killer track or two as most
of the songs are the same (good but maybe too identical sometimes). Last but
not least nice artcover (very cool logo symbol) and a very nice production which
fits the music like a glove.
Emerald Rain is a nice band that despite originality, delivers a pretty
good Hard Rock album, the kind of CD you can put anywhere and in every company.
For fans of catchy Hard Rock à la Firehouse or Honeymoon Suite (but without
the killer titles). Keep up the good work !
