Killing songs: ???
This is the fourth album by the German death/thrash pioneers. Formed
in 1995, this band has steadily grown up and after a quite successful
demo, they signed at Nuclear Records kicking off a row of high quality
releases.
This Necrodynamic comes just after Nailwork (their last
album for Nuclear Blast), which was a mixture of thrash riffs and
crushing death metal and the interplay of guttural and melodic vocals.
This one follows the same path, but the band have added some hardcore
vocals here and there, some blasting riffs and the overall sounds
like the Swedish scene and is less death metal orientated. Some
fast part reminds me The Haunted or Carnal Forge, but the performance
is not that good.
At the end, I believe Night In Gales have put too many different
elements in their music that I was asking myself if they are not
lost alone between the death metal path and the new Scandinavian
metal fashion (The Haunted, In Flames, Carnal Forge, Soilwork ....).
Not a bad record, but Nailwork was excellent compare to
this Necrodynamic who is as empty of inspiration, empty of
ideas, empty as their cover art can be. I am wondering if they have
digested yet their transfer from one of the biggest metal label
to Massacre Records.
As far as I know this band, this Necrodynamic is their worst
record, but I am sure the next one will put them again in the right
direction.
