After the CD, here comes the DVD !!! Who said Scorpions is an
"unstoppable money machine maker"?
It was evident that Scorpions will release this DVD. After all,
this live was recorded at Hannover Expo 2000 (by the German TV ?) and
with such an audience packed (TV beamed the scenes live around the world),
why shall Germany's greatest hard rock band leave this piece of history
in their cellar (or German's TV cellar).
Indisputably rock superstars since Love At First Sting, Scorpions
is less hard and more soft on their last work. However, this live with
the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra shows again that Scorpions is still
powerful on stage and that their music is also "designed"
to work with classical instruments (even though I am sure that any metal
band will sound powerful with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra playing
in the back).
Songs like Wind Of Change, Hurricane 2000 (formerly Rock
You like A Hurricane) Big City Nights or Dynamite are "moment
of pleasure" guaranteed and it's a shame Scorpions didn't take
the opportunity to play other classic songs. The other minus point here
is the difference between the DVD and the CD : why Scorpions
(or the label) have decided to not include all CD songs on this DVD
? God knows !
My brother offered me this one at Christmas and I was rather astonished
by this gift. Believe it or not, it has been a real pleasure to see
this DVD Moment Of Glory. Now there is a growing rumor saying
next Scorpions will be as hard as Blackout ... I really
hope it is not just a rumor !!!
