Killing songs: Magic Potion, Collective Mind, Demon Witches and all the rest
Oh man this is the kind of review I like to do. As I am writing
these few words, Head Of The Deceiver is turning in
my CD player and I can feel the whole spirit of True Metal back
to life.
After the disappointment of the last Hammerfall (at least for me)
and after many copy cat bands here and there, I was starting to
ask myself if True Metal was (already) dead ? Not at all !!! From
nowhere, Wizard release this bombastic True f**cking Metal masterpiece
(which is the third record by the way).
Yes, Wizard proves with Head Of The Deceiver
that this metal style can still be innovative, powerful and catchy.
Speed True Metal at its best. First song (just after the intro)
is the best song I have heard since a long time now. Imagine Blind
Guardian "à la" Hammerfall !!! If the first song,
Magic Potion, will not give you the desire to buy this one,
the second track, Head Of The Deceiver, will certainly annihilate
your resistance and just after the ten first seconds of the third
track, Collective Mind, you will be at the cash-register
... for sure!
This is their best work so far and even though Head Of The Deceiver
is an extraordinary achievement, I suggest you to check also their
previous record, Bound By Metal (B.O. Records). Finally an
excellent record out of Limp Records this year. For me, the best
True Metal album of the year (after Lost Horizon of course). If
you are a fan of Hammerfall, do not miss this one for nothing. A
masterpiece out of Germany again ... and the production of Uwe Lulis
(Ex-Grave Digger, Rebellion) is without any doubts the secrect of
this ... Magic Potion !!!
Wizard, Wizard, Wizard, Wizard !!!
