Killing songs: All !
Second album for this band, but the first I hear from them, and I must say
that I'm nicely surprised by this release. But well, the guy's are from Finland,
that outta count ;). As I understand it the band changed a bit their line-up,
the new members are the singer Mika Taurianen and the bass player Joni Miettinen.
The first thing that is perceived right away when you play the CD is the excellent
production done at the Astia A-Studio with Anssi Kippo (Children Of Bodom, Sinergy, ...) and was finally mastered at Finnvox.
Musically Entwine plays a pretty good although quite predictable Gothic Metal.
The overall remind me of a merging between The Gathering and Sentenced. The
melodies are very deep and the excellent arrangements made on keyboards by the
very cute female keyboard player Riitta Heikkonen add a mystical dimension to
the songs. The vocals are pretty much what you'd expect from Gothic, Mika Tauriainen (vocals) have a nice voice and sings very well. The guitars atmosphere use quite heavy
riffs in order to enhance the mood of the music in the best of ways. Only little
disappointement would be that the overall tends to repeat itself and might also
be a little too depressing. But that goes with the style I guess...
Very good album from this Finland Gothic Metal band that will, I'm sure, make
a lot of noise in the Gothic scene and believe me they diserve it. Congratulations.
