Killing songs: 8 doom songs !!!
For those who worship doom metal, Jack Frost has everything you normally
expect from an album of that genre. The music bears perfection in
heaviness, gothic to the bones with typical Type 0 Negative atmospheric
passages that really take you into the context of the music. If you
know Type O Negative's Everyone I Love Is Dead, imagine a full
album dedicated to that song.
Jack Frost (from Austria) don't bring anything new in the doom/gothic
world but they have simply written a typical doom metal album. Everything
fits in the right place, but there is not a great diversity between
the songs. Honestly, I couldn't not tell you which song I am currently
listening ... without checking my CD-player.
The vocal are exactly the same as Peter Steel (Type 0 Negative).
To highlight one or two songs would be difficult, very difficult.
Doom's fan will may be more able to elected one song in particular,
but that type of metal is so heavy and "doomish", that all
songs are linked one another and you travel into an oppressive world
of depression, sadness and melancholy from first second till end.
If you like Type 0 Negative, Sisters Of Mercy and Moonspell, this
one is for you. As for the originality, innovation and the creativity
... I let you judge by yourself.
