Killing songs: Hanging On, The New You, Free The Dream, Forever You And I.
Prime Time play a standard 80's Hard-Rock music, and it seem that they find
a good balance in this album, cause it's far better than the last album I've
heard (The Unkown). Now I understand that there was an album in between called
" The Miracle" but I don't know much about it. The strong presence of keyboards
add a good atmosphere to the songs and the choruses. These last being very catchy
and melodic and they help in delivering a good overall feeling.
The album contains good vocals and it seems the singer can sing in many different
ways. The change in sound may also come from the quite important line-up changes
between The Unknown and this one. The only 2 members that remain are the lead
guitar player and the vocalist. They are now only 4 instead of 5. The songs are very
catchy, and almost a bit too much. I mean the melodies are very happy doogie
cutie... if you see what I mean. But it's okay, I mean when I put a Prime Time
CD in my player it's not to get blown off by powerful guitar riffs, that's
for sure. Instead it would more be nice medium paced songs with a good keyboard
atmosphere and nice vocals always leading the way. The song "Forever
You And I" is very rock'n'roll and a pretty good song that brings some
originality compared to the rest of the album. So does the instrumental track
contained in this album (due to it's Spanish touch).
If you like bands like Asia and Journey, you might be very well attracted
by Prime Time. Some choruses also reminds me Roxette from time to time. A good
release, that tends to be a bit too repetitive in the end. Keep up the good work.
