Killing songs: Crimson Twins, Hollow Heart, Chains
Second opus for these guys from Finland who makes us dive into a dark and melodic musical spiral. The influences ? Sentenced / Him are always very present and their style didn't really evolved except that this new album is more mature than the previous one. Melodies, choruses and the overall production are really magnificent and I would almost rate this Epilogue (but let's hope that it isn't one) a little higher than the last Sentenced. Personally I didn't like Crimson that much, prefering the Frozen album by far. But let's get back to this review : Some little electronic touches are present to add more charm to songs like Hollow Heart. Hymns songs like Crimson Twins which open this album, are a bit more heavy while keeping the nostalgic To Die For touch. Apparences of female vocals on the magnificent Chains (also a bit in Hollow Heart) are just another exemple of the strengh of this record. So for all who like to see the rain fall on earth and who want to live a good melancholic musical moment : here comes the epilogue of your dreams... to listen to until death comes...
