Killing songs: El Fin De Los Tiempos, El Ultimo Amanecer
We decided this week to make you discover two Spanish bands, both playing
heavy/true metal stuff. The first band - Red Wine - is playing
a kind ofsymphonic heavy/true metal and has chosen to sing in Spanish
- like Avalanch, another Spanish band.
Overall, Red Wine reminds me Rhapsody, Iron Maiden
and Tierra Santa (also a Spanish band). The singer does a good
job, but the guy need to improve the high pitched vocals because sometimes
he is out of tunes. Red Wine seems also very much influenced
by Helloween. I am wondering by the way if there is one single
true metal band on this planet who is not been influenced by Helloween
? But that's another story.
As I don't speak Spanish - expect the ugly words - it is hard for me
to describe you the story (if there is any). Following the art-cover
and the title of this album El Fin De Los Tempos (The End of
Time), something tells me this is again a "true metal scenario"
with bad, good and ugly. I hope one of our Spanish readers will help
us discover the real meaning of theses lyrics :)
Musically, the Spanish scene reminds us the German & the Italian
metal scene : symphonic, melodic, fast and epic. Red Wine won't
change the metal scene, but if you are a "true metal" collector,
you should check El Fin De Los Tiempos. For those of you who
understand Spanish, it might also interest you. But between you and
me, even though all songs are well structured, melodic and the production
not that bad, there is absolutely nothing new here we haven't listen
to it a thousand time.
Expect one or two surprises (El Fin De Los Tiempos, El Ultimo Amanecer),
each song is easily predictable. What a shame ! El Fin De Los Tempos
is a good record ... but there are so many other goods CD that deserve
your money.
