Killing songs: If you ask me : All !!!
I wasn't believing my own ears when I first listened to that wonderful
album. What a first album my friends, Sonata Arctica, which by the
way is a very young band from Finland, have put themselves into
the melodic metal scene with style. I've no doubt they're soon gonna
hit the top of selling albums in their category. The album is just
perfect, from the first song to the last one, no track is boring,
always fast paced (expect the wonderful ballads 'Letter To Dana'
& 'Replica') and extremely melodic. The vocalist is very good although
it's quiet difficult to understand everything without the lyrics.
The style reminds a lot of Stratovarius, but with a little something
else that actually makes it different. Perhaps this little inspiration
from Yngwie Malmsteen which apparently the band are fans of. So
what is more to say than : go get this buy-or-die album now !!!
Yes, actually I can add something : I'm really looking forward to
listen to their next album, because this one has put the bet very
high. Let's hope they can keep up with this level and why not even
dream of a better one. That's all we wish for this new young band
! Two thumbs up.
