Killing songs: Suzanne, Someday & Demons.
Evereve's two first albums are amongst my cult albums in my personal
collection... Seasons & Stormbirds are simply two unique and
magical masterpieces. Unfortunately, the singer on these 2 albums had the very
bad idea of committing suicide and his replacement is far (but really far away)
from keeping up with the level.
Already with the previous album Regret, I had trouble accepting him,
but this E-Mania is really bad ! Actually it reminds me a bad & unsuccessful
mixture of Amorphis (last 2) and Crematory with some electronic
touches added on top of it... actually if you want my personal feeling, there's
a reason why the band is now at Massacre and not Nuclear Blast anymore.
Okay, the sound isn't bad at all, and I'm sure this album could please a public
that would discover the band with this album, but when I remember titles like
The Downfall or The Bride Wears Black I cannot help myself and
shed a tear while listening to the new singer while he sabotage a Suzanne
or Someday. Not a bad album, but the original singer is badly missed.
