Darklight Awakening

Debut album of the German band Dawn Of Dreams who plays a mixture of melodic and aggressive black metal (voice are not far away from death metal). Melodic death metal fans who listen to this album will recognize that In Flames is one of the important influence. One the other hand, guitar riffs are fast and more heavy metal oriented (Running Wild riffs). The songs come straight to the point and the varied vocals contributes to this "melodic death metal" atmosphere. Not bad at all, but as for True Metal last year, melodic-agressive black metal bands are legions nowadays. The difference between those bands is however smaller and smaller. I always have this taste of Dimmu Borgir / In Flames "marriage", with no real surprises. Fans of this type of metal will love it for sure. For others, give a try before.
