Killing songs: In The Army Now, Exposure, Drill Bit Lobotomy
Chicago's Macabre finally return with their highly anticipated concept
album dedicated to Milwaukee "sicko serial-killer" Jeffrey
Dahmer (wasn't it possible for those guys to find a better subject to
talk about !!!). Fast, mega fast, I still don't know how I survived
the first listening my friends. What a rhythm, what a drum, what a fist
in my face. Macabre's murder metal (?) sound is a combination of intense
drumming (what a drum !!!!!!), double horrific chording and mega breakneck
heavy and speed riffs.
Produced, recorded and mixed by the legendary Neil Kernon (Judas Priest,
Queensryche, Nevermore), Macabre unearth a chilling 26 song musical
journey into the bizarre world of Dahmer (the sickest serial killer
of America). Macabre uniquely blend all metal genres with punk, jazz
and humor (In The Army Now, Jeffrey Dahmer and The Chocolate Factory)
creating an album where no two songs are alike.
Macabre's legendary innovative status stems from their long dedication
to music, they formed over fifteen years ago, have never broken up and
have never had a line up change (well I guess it is not easy to find
other crazy guys like you). I am totally against the subject and even
though there is a lot of humor in this record, Dahmer deserve for my
personal taste to much honor from Macabre (a song would have been ok,
but a full album !!!). Anyway ... this album is simply unbelievable.
You won't find a metal record like this one and you will be knockout
after the first play.
