Killing songs: None!
What a painful listening. SWK plays a kind of Pro Pain, Machine Head
metal (hardcore). This Connection is unfortunately full of indifferent
moments. The singer saves the journey, but their song-writting is so
poor. Actually, I have heard that a thousand time before. No inspiration,
no killing riff, no melodies (at all !!!), no flying moments and a record
that seems to be endless ... endless ... endless.
It’s a shame, because sometimes you can fell there is a great potential
with SKW. When they concentrate their efforts on more complex songs,
they can play great hardcore songs. Sometimes, I was wondering if they
like what they play or if they play this type of metal because they
think it is going to be the next wave.
As said above, the vocals are excellent, but the rest far to be as
good as the vocal. The production of the album is good, with the instruments
perfectly balanced, but without good songs ... the production becomes
useless.
There are other cd to invest these days in the hardcore scene. Unless
you want to buy everything out of this scene, I suggest you try before
you buy. There’s not much more to write about this band. Everything
is too typical in this Connection to mention something more.
Hard work! Hard work is the only way to ... succeed.
