Killing songs: Silencing The Sorrow, Tragedies, Surmounting The Masses…
So what do we have here ? The guitar player Erik Rutan of Morbid Angel
(also guitar player and singer of Hate Eternal), the young and beautiful
chorus singer Martina Astner of Therion, the black session drummer of
Genitorturers and Die Krupps and a guy who bares the name of Scott
Hornick (but no one really cares ;)...).
This four bozzos have reunited today to deliver a very interesting and especially
very original album. A mix between Morbid Angel, In Flames and
Therion (vocals). The overall being very eclectic, as much as their heavy
guitars riffs and excellent solos. As for the vocals, the superb voice of Martina
brings Gothic to this already quite mixed music. I must admit that the first
listen did not really convince me... but little by little I've entered this
album which I finally found of excellent quality. Only weakness I see might
be that all songs tends to reassemble one another, but I'm maybe too regarding
I admit.
A very good surprise then, which might not be the revelation of the year, but
still has the merit to deliver us with a good music moment, if not a very good
moment.
