DECAPITATED DRUMMER, VITEK, DIES AT 23

The drummer of one of Poland's biggest death metal bands, Decapitated died on November 2, 2007 as a result of head trauma from a car crash in Gomel, near the Belarus / Russian border earlier in the week. The band's singer, Covan, was involved in the wreck as well, and was seriously injured. Covan is currently recovering in a Russian hospital. "Covan's family released a statement yesterday (Thursday, November 1) that the vocalist's condition had improved. At the time, the vocalist was still said to be at a hospital in Novozybkov, Russia, where he and Vitek were taken following the accident." Vitek and Covan's car reportedly collided with a truck carrying lumber. Supposedly, the driver of Decapitated's bus was at fault in the crash, but that cannot be confirmed at this time. Vitek was 23 years old. All of here at metalreviews are deeply saddened by this event and hope that Vitek's familly, Covan's family, and the rest of the band can find the strength to get through this horrible tragedy.
